ABUS Double Cylinder EC550

The double cylinder of the EC550 series from ABUS is a high-quality and versatile cylinder lock and has security level 2. The mechanical profile cylinder features an integrated emergency and danger function and a special drill protection provided by hardened steel pins inside the cylinder. The EC550 double cylinder is a great all-rounder with particularly good value for money and has been the bestseller among profile cylinders in our online shop for years. The profile cylinder is also available in a keyed-alike variant.

ABUS EC550 double cylinder - Use & application:

The ABUS EC550 double cylinder is available in many different lengths and can be used for both house entrance doors and apartment doors. The ABUS EC550 is not protected by a security card and can therefore be copied and duplicated cost-effectively, quickly and with little effort. The modern dimple reversible key ensures excellent operability and high comfort. Thanks to the practical emergency and danger function, the cylinder can also be opened from the outside in an emergency when another key is inserted on the inside.

In the keyed-alike variant, the ABUS EC550 double cylinder is compatible with the half, round and knob cylinders of the EC550 series. In addition, the cylinder can be used keyed-alike or keyed-differently for security bolts without a cylinder (e.g. ABUS PR 2600). The additional door locks ABUS 7010 and ABUS 7030, as well as the padlock ABUS 86TI TITALIUM, can also be keyed-alike with the double cylinder of the EC550 series .

ABUS EC550 double cylinder - Dimensions & installation:

The required cylinder length depends on the door thickness and the thickness of the door fittings. The required measurement can easily be taken on the respective door. To do this, the cylinder length is measured centrally from the lock screw to the outer edge of the escutcheon in both directions (see diagram). Please note that the door cylinder should not protrude more than 3 mm beyond the escutcheon, as it would otherwise provide an attack surface for tools.

Keying:

The ABUS EC550 double cylinder is available in so-called keyed-differently and keyed-alike variants (the selection is made below "cylinder length" under "keying"). When using multiple keyed-alike cylinders, all cylinders can be opened with just one key. With keyed-differently cylinders, different keys are required for each individual cylinder. How do I order keyed-alike cylinders?

Select the EC550 in a keyed-alike variant and add it to your shopping basket. All keyed-alike cylinders (e.g. double, half and knob cylinders) and products of the EC550 series (e.g. security bolt ABUS PR 2600) as well as the corresponding additional keys will then be coordinated within the order. If you require two or more different keyed-alike systems, please place two separate orders. Please read the product description carefully to see whether other products are compatible.

How many keys do I receive?

For both keyed-alike and keyed-differently variants you will receive 3 keys per cylinder. If you need more keys, these must be added separately to the order as additional keys.

I already own products with EC550 cylinders and need additional keys for them?

We offer you the option of ordering additional keys afterwards for keyed-alike cylinder sets that you already own. Please order so-called replacement keys according to sample and provide your key number (e.g. SM12345) when ordering.

If you already own EC550 cylinders or products equipped with them and would like to add further cylinders, we can order these for you for an additional charge.
