ABUS EC880 double cylinder - use & application:

The ABUS EC880 double cylinder is available in many different lengths and can be used for both front doors and apartment doors. The ABUS EC880 is protected by a security card and can therefore be copied and duplicated by you. The modern dimple reversible key provides excellent operability and high comfort. Thanks to the practical emergency and danger function, the lock cylinder can also be opened from the outside in an emergency if another key is inserted on the inside. Its modular design makes it unbeatable in flexibility.

In the keyed-alike variant, the ABUS EC880 double cylinder is compatible with the half and thumbturn cylinders of the EC880 series. In addition, the cylinder can be used keyed-alike or keyed-different for security bolts without a cylinder (e.g. ABUS PR 2600). The ABUS 86TI TITALIUM padlock can also be keyed-alike with the double cylinder of the EC880 series.

ABUS EC880 double cylinder - dimensions & installation:

The required cylinder length depends on the door thickness and the thickness of the escutcheon. The required measurement can be easily taken on the respective door. The cylinder length is measured centrally from the lock screw to the outer edge of the escutcheon in both directions (see sketch). Please note that the door cylinder should not protrude more than 3 mm beyond the escutcheon, as otherwise it offers an attack surface for tools.

Keying:

The ABUS EC880 double cylinder is available in so-called keyed-different and keyed-alike variants (selection is made below "Cylinder length" under "Keying"). When using several keyed-alike cylinders, all cylinders can be opened with just one key. With keyed-different cylinders, different keys are required for each individual cylinder. Please note the following when ordering keyed-alike cylinders:

How do I order keyed-alike cylinders?

Select the EC880 in a keyed-alike variant and add it to the shopping cart. All keyed-alike cylinders (e.g. double, half and thumbturn cylinders) and products of the EC880 series (e.g. security bolt ABUS PR 2600) as well as the corresponding extra keys will now be matched within the order. If you require two or more different keyed-alike systems, please place two separate orders. Please read the product text carefully to see whether other products are compatible.

How many keys will I receive?

You will receive 3 keys per cylinder for both keyed-alike and keyed-different variants. If you need more keys, they must be added to the order separately as extra keys .

I already own products with EC880 cylinders and need more keys for them?

We offer you the option to order additional keys afterwards for keyed-alike cylinder sets that you already own. Please order so-called replacement keys according to sample and send a picture of your security card to info@endlich-sicher.de after ordering.

If you already own EC880 cylinders or products equipped with them and wish to add more cylinders, we can order these for you for an additional charge. To adapt the cylinders accordingly, we also need a picture of your security card. Please send your request by e-mail (info[at]endlich-sicher.de) – you will then receive an appropriate quotation.
