The grating security ABUS GS20 provides protection against prying up of gratings covering cellar and light wells. A sturdy retaining plate is mounted on the grating and the grating frame. The ABUS GS20 grating security is firmly screwed to the side wall of the well beneath the grating; the grating then sits firmly in place and can no longer be opened from the outside, making prying and climbing in much more difficult.
ABUS GS20 - Use & application:
The ABUS GS20 grating security is mounted in pairs on both sides of a well and is suitable for installation on concrete and masonry. Escape route regulations are still complied with despite installation of the ABUS GS20 grating securities, because the screw can be released manually from the inside and the escape route can therefore be quickly cleared in an emergency.
ABUS GS20 - Dimensions & installation:
The grating security is supplied in pairs, as a standard grating requires one pair for securing. The retaining plates or discs of the ABUS GS20 grating security are attached to the grille via a securing plate and a bracket. A fixing rod is screwed to the retaining plates and the masonry.
With a little DIY skill the installation is straightforward. If in doubt, you should hire a tradesperson. Details on installation and the scope of delivery can be found in the installation and operating instructions (see Downloads).

Cellar windows behind the grating securities can optionally be secured with telescopic rods (e.g. ABUS Tele-Z 100), additional window locks (e.g. ABUS FTS3003) and hinge-side security devices (e.g. ABUS FAS101 or ABUS FAS97).
