ABUS thumbturn cylinder KD6X

The ABUS KD6X is the knob cylinder from the well-known D6X series by ABUS with security level 2. It features, like all mechanical profile cylinders of the D6X family, a reversible dimple key and hardened steel pins inside as anti-drill protection. The knob cylinder can also be keyed alike with all other products of the D6X range that are offered keyed alike, such as half- and double cylinders or the padlock ABUS 86TI TITALIUM. ABUS KD6X knob cylinder - use & application:

The ABUS KD6X is available in many cylinder lengths and can be used for both house entrance doors and apartment entrance doors. The ABUS D6X is protected by a code card and can therefore be copied and duplicated cost-effectively, quickly and with little effort.

ABUS KD6X knob cylinder - dimensions & installation:

The cylinder length you need can be derived from the door thickness and the thickness of your fittings. You can easily measure the correct dimension on your door. The measured dimensions A and B (see diagram) give the required size. For knob cylinders the knob side is abbreviated K and the cylinder side is abbreviated Z. Bear in mind that the door cylinder should not protrude more than 3 mm beyond the fitting, otherwise it offers too large an attack surface for tools.

The ABUS KD6X knob cylinder is available in two variants: keyed differently and keyed alike. Multiple cylinders can be opened with the same key if they were all ordered in the keyed-alike variant. With keyed-different cylinders each cylinder has an individual keying. Please note the following when ordering keyed-alike cylinders:

How do I order keyed-alike cylinders?

Select the D6X in a keyed-alike variant and add it to your shopping cart. All keyed-alike cylinders (e.g. double, half and knob cylinders) as well as the corresponding extra keys will then be coordinated within the order. If you require two or more different keyed-alike systems, please place two separate orders. Please read the item description carefully to see whether other products are compatible. Please note: Keyed-alike cylinders are custom-made and therefore cannot be cancelled or returned!

I already own products with D6X cylinders and need additional keys for them?

You can order additional keys for your existing cylinders. Please add the so-called replacement keys to match sample to your shopping cart and provide your key number from the code card (e.g. SM12345) when ordering.

If you want to include additional cylinders in the keyed alike system of your existing D6X cylinders, we can have these produced for you for a small surcharge.
