The lead is automatically advanced by a reliable pressure mechanism and can be re-sharpened if necessary using the integrated sharpener in the holster. For full readiness, the marker should always be refilled with suitable replacement leads. The graphite lead is universally suitable and can be supplemented if required with special replacement leads (e.g. coloured, waterproof).
