Spax stainless steel A2 terrace screw - Features
The SPAX-typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal six-lobed drive. This shape increases the contact area of our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits seat perfectly in the screw head. The optimum transfer of torque from driver to screw via T-STAR plus enables rapid working, and is significantly more efficient than all other drive types.
The fixing thread consists of a main thread, which embeds into the substructure, and the under-head thread. This under-head thread ensures that the decking board is held securely on the substructure under all weather conditions. The smooth shank between the threaded sections absorbs the movements of the board. You will never have to re-screw decking boards because they loosen or creak excessively!
The CUT tip of our SPAX screws allows extremely fast and effective driving of our wood screws without pre-drilling. The arrow-shaped CUT tip, in combination with the wave profile, reduces splitting and tearing of the wood. In addition, the CUT tip enables very precise and slip-resistant placement of the screw tip even on smooth surfaces.
The abbreviation A2 for our stainless steel screws derives from the steel's alloy. Screws in the stainless steel A2 version offer high protection against corrosion and medium strength. Their resistance to seawater and to acids is low. They are therefore used outdoors in areas away from the coast.
