Spax Stainless Steel A2 Terrace Screw Alu - Features

The typical SPAX drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal six-round. Due to this shape the contact surface of our T-STAR plus is increased, and the T-STAR plus bits sit optimally in the screw head. The best possible torque transmission from the driver to the screw via T-STAR plus enables fast working, and much more efficiently than all other drives.

The fixing thread consists of a main thread, which cuts into the substructure, and the under-head thread. This under-head thread ensures that the decking board is held securely on the substructure under all weather conditions. The smooth shank between the thread sections absorbs the movements of the board. You will never have to re-screw decking boards again because they come loose or creak excessively!

In certain areas you need to attach wooden fittings to metal substructures. This is the case, for example, with our SPAX ALU terrace screw or in dry construction. Because ordinary screws would fail on hard metal, we also have screws with a special drill point in our range. Visually it resembles the tip of a metal drill and has two small cutting edges. The SPAX ALU pre-drills into aluminium up to 4 mm wall thickness so that the thread can cut into the material. You can drive it in just as easily as our wood-construction screws. For you this means: For a given wall thickness of 2 mm in metal and 4 mm in aluminium, the usual pre-drilling with a metal drill is not necessary. No bit changes, no broken thin metal drill bits in the screw hole.

The abbreviation A2 on our stainless steel screws stems from the steel alloy. Screws in the stainless steel A2 version offer high protection against corrosion and medium strength. Their resistance to seawater and acids is low. They are therefore used outdoors in inland areas.

Spax Stainless Steel A2 Terrace Screw Alu - Recommendations

- Drill point for aluminium profiles up to 4.0 mm wall thickness without pre-drilling
- Use: for wooden decking on aluminium
- Recommendation:

• Aluminium substructure 3.0 mm thick for softwood
• Aluminium substructure 4.0 mm thick for hardwood

- Use SPAX Air between decking board and aluminium profile. Use SPAX countersink 4 mm in combination with SPAX drill 5.2 mm; Do not pre-drill the aluminium profile!
- Not suitable for: timbers with pronounced alternating twist (Cumarú, Massaranduba, IPE decking > 21 x 120 mm etc.)
- Very low overall deck construction height of min. 46 mm possible
- Processing note:
