Spax threaded rod - features
When very high insertion torques are required, only a hex head will do. At SPAX it is used only on the threaded rods. Its size and shape transfer the large forces from a spanner or socket to the threaded rod. The collar formed under the head ensures a secure fit of the tool, as it prevents slipping.
Unlike partial threads, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more threads a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. Our fully threaded screws are primarily used for highly load-bearing timber connections.
