SPAX timber construction screw HI.FORCE - full thread, wafer head, T-STAR plus, 4CUT, A2 stainless steel

Product information "SPAX timber construction screw HI.FORCE - full thread, wafer head, T-STAR plus, 4CUT, A2 stainless steel"

Where maximum reliability and the simplest handling are required, these timber-construction screws come into play. Their strengths, such as a greatly reduced driving torque and a very low tendency to cause splitting, are particularly sought after in timber construction, because the generally used large timber dimensions mean that being able to drive the screws in quickly represents a real time saving. This product is especially useful in structural timber construction, where these full-thread screws are used for highly load-bearing and durable timber joints. The major advantage of such a screwed connection is that the otherwise customary sheet‑metal parts and fittings for timber connections are completely eliminated. In addition to the cost-effectiveness — fittings often have to be fully fixed with nails — the much more pleasing natural wood appearance also plays an important role. What this means for you: you save a lot of money on expensive timber connectors, which are also not conducive to the appearance of a timber structure. You can produce highly load-bearing and durable timber connections in the simplest way.

Spax timber-construction screw HI.FORCE - Features

The SPAX-typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal six-lobed drive. This shape increases the contact area of our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits sit perfectly in the screw head. The best possible transfer of force from the driver to the screw provided by T-STAR plus enables swift working, and is significantly more efficient than all other drives.

In contrast to partially threaded screws, the full thread runs over the entire length of the screw. The more thread turns a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transmitted from the screw into the timber. Our full-thread screws are used primarily for highly load-bearing timber connections.

The term 4CUT refers to the square-shaped formation of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres as the screw is driven in and create space for the screw's core diameter. The splitting pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced and splitting of the timber near edges is prevented. The required torque from a cordless screwdriver is also reduced, since the screw's core does not have to be "squeezed" into the wood.

The abbreviation A2 for our stainless-steel screws derives from the steel alloy. Screws in the stainless A2 version offer high protection against corrosion and medium strength. Their resistance to seawater and to acids is low. They are therefore used outdoors in areas away from the coast.
