Spax timber construction screw WIROX - Features
The SPAX-typical T-STAR plus drive is a so-called internal six-lobed drive. This shape increases the contact surface on our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits sit perfectly in the screw head. The best possible transfer of power from the driver to the screw provided by T-STAR plus enables rapid working, and is significantly more efficient than all other drives.
In contrast to partial thread, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more thread turns a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. Our full-thread screws are used primarily for high-load-bearing timber connections.
The term 4CUT refers to the square-shaped design of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres as the screw is driven in and create space for the core diameter of the screw. This reduces the splitting pressure exerted by the core in the wood and prevents the wood from splitting near edges. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, as the screw core does not have to be 'squeezed' into the wood.
