Spax Universal Screw BLAX - Features
The SPAX-typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal six-lobe. Due to this shape, the contact area of our T-STAR plus is increased, and the T-STAR plus bits sit optimally in the screw head. The best possible transfer of force from driver to screw via T-STAR plus enables swift working, and considerably more efficiently than with all other drives.
The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) mills a recess into the wood with its polygonal underside ("pockets") and can therefore be sunk without additional countersinking of the screw hole. The countersunk head sits flush with the surface.
In contrast to partial threads, the full thread extends over the entire length of the screw. The more thread turns a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. Our full-thread screws are primarily used for highly loaded wood connections.
The term 4CUT refers to the square-shaped formation of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres during driving and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The splitting pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced and splitting of the wood near edges is prevented. The required torque of the cordless driver is also reduced, as the core of the screw does not have to be "squeezed" into the wood.
