The SPAX-typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal six-lobular drive. This shape increases the contact surface of our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits sit perfectly in the screw head. The best possible transfer of torque from the driver to the screw via T-STAR plus enables swift working, and it is significantly more efficient than all other drives.

The countersunk head (also called a flat countersunk head) mills a recess into the wood with its polygonal underside (“pockets”) and can therefore be countersunk without additional pre-countersinking of the screw hole. The countersunk head sits flush with the surface.

Partially threaded screws are excellent for fastening thin components such as engineered wood panels, boards or floorboards to thicker components like squared timber or beams. The short thread screws into the thicker component, while the unthreaded shank remains in the attached component. This creates the maximum clamping pressure between the two. The unthreaded section should be at least the thickness of the attached component.

The term 4CUT refers to the square-shaped design of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres while screwing in and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The radial expansion pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced and splitting of the wood near edges is prevented. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, because the core of the screw does not have to be “squeezed” into the wood.
