Spax Universalschraube BLAX - Features
Because of its special colouring this screw is particularly suitable when working with black fittings or dark woods. It therefore provides an aesthetically pleasing appearance.
The SPAX-typical drive T-STAR plus is a so-called internal six-lobed drive. This shape increases the contact area on our T-STAR plus, and the T-STAR plus bits sit perfectly in the screw head. The optimum transfer of power from driver to screw provided by T-STAR plus allows fast working, and much more efficiently than with any other drives.
The countersunk head (or flat countersunk head) mills a recess into the wood with its polygonal underside (“pockets”) and can therefore be recessed without additionally countersinking the screw hole. The countersunk head sits flush with the surface.
Unlike partial threads, the full thread extends over the entire screw length. The more thread turns a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. Our full-thread screws are used primarily for highly load-bearing wood connections.
The term 4CUT stands for the square-shaped formation of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres during driving and create space for the core diameter of the screw. The spreading pressure exerted by the core in the wood is thus reduced and splitting of the wood near edges is prevented. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced, because the screw core does not have to be “squeezed” into the wood.
