The "Kraftangriff Kreuzschlitz Z" power drive is a further development of the basic Phillips cross‑power drive by the Philips Screw Company. The difference is that the four flanks of the screwdriver blade do not taper towards the tip. This increases the lateral support for the bit and reduces the cam‑out effect. Cam‑out occurs in conventional cross‑recess power drives due to the tapering, because the torque of the cordless screwdriver pushes the driver bit upwards.

In furniture making, properties such as head pull‑through resistance and clamping pressure are also required. Our universal screw with a rear‑panel head offers both, to fix the hardboard back panel to the rear of furniture carcasses. The flat shape does not protrude and increases the bearing area on the fibreboard. The head provides high retention and can be undone during any disassembly of the carcass and reused later.

Unlike partial threads, the full thread runs over the entire length of the screw. The more thread turns a screw has, the greater the tensile and compressive forces that can be transferred from the screw to the wood. Our fully threaded screws are primarily used for highly stressed wood joints.

The term 4CUT refers to the square profiling of the screw tip. These edges displace the wood fibres during insertion and create space for the core diameter of the screw. This reduces the splitting pressure exerted by the core in the wood and prevents splitting of the wood near edges. The required torque of the cordless screwdriver is also reduced because the screw core does not have to be "squeezed" into the wood.
